Injection molding machines can produce all of the plastic products. But different types of plastics need to be equipped with different injection molding machines.
The selection of injection molding machines must be combined with plastic characteristics. Differences in melting points, viscosities, and molding mechanisms. So,different types of plastics have different requirements for the plasticizing, injection, clamping, and auxiliary systems of injection molding machines . The following analysis focuses on three mainstream plastics: general thermoplastic plastics, engineering plastics, and thermosetting plastics.
1. General Thermoplastic Plastics (e.g., PE, PP)
General thermoplastic plastics have low melting points (150-250℃), good fluidity, and low molding difficulty. Their requirements for injection molding machines are based on basic functions, without the need for complex configurations.
2. Engineering Plastics (e.g., PC, PA)
Engineering plastics have the characteristics of high strength, high heat resistance, and high viscosity. They are often used in precision structural parts such as auto parts and electronic casings, and have strict requirements on the performance of injection molding machines.
3. Thermosetting Plastics (e.g., Phenolic Resin, Epoxy Resin)
Thermosetting Plastics will occur chemical cross-linking reaction when they molded, from a plastic state to an insoluble and infusible solid. The molding mechanism is special, and they have specific requirements for the structure and process of injection molding machines.
All in all, every plastic factory owner must according to the characteristics of plastics when chooses injection molding machines.
